Imposing mountain that is located entirely in Swiss territory, stands out from the surrounding mountains for its altitude and beauty. It has two distinct peaks not far from each other. They were first ascended by the guides Jean Baptiste and Michel Croz in 1861. Today they are very popular on the Swiss side, which is not too steep and is ideal for ski mountaineers.

Program

  • Day 1
    Departure from Ollomont, with the off-road vehicle continue on the farm road to the lake of By 2048 Mt. From here, leaving the lake, continue to climb on a path that is sometimes steep. A ridge of equipped rocks leads to Amianthe at 2979 Mt.one of the most remote refuges in the Aosta Valley. 2. Dinner and overnight at the refuge.
  • Day 2
    Wake up at 3:00 breakfast and at 3:45 departure. From the Amianthe refuge go up to the Amianthe hill for 1 hour, after passing the hill you go down to the Mont Durand glacier to go up towards Owest and cross the Sonadan pass 3504 Mt. until you reach the Owest crest of the Grand Combin. From here begins the climb of the Isler shoulder that leads to the tip of Valsorey 4184 Mt., cross a snow ridge to the east to reach the top of the Gran Combin di Grafeneire 4314 Mt. 6:30 am from the refuge. The descent is carried out on the same route as the climb.
