6 days on Mont Blanc

The program is aimed at those who want to prepare adequately for the conquest of Mont Blanc. The climbs to Breithorn 4165 mt. and the Gran Paradiso 4.061 mt. allow you to check your training and test your body at altitude, to be technically up to speed for the ascent to the summit of Mont Blanc. The climb to the Breithorn is technically easy and allows you to familiarize yourself with crampons and ice axes. the Gran Paradiso, on the other hand, has greater differences in height, it is technically more difficult and complete acclimatization to the altitude in view of the ascent to Mont Blanc. After a day of rest you will finally be ready for the climb to Mont Blanc which is usually done from the Cosmiques refuge.

Program

  • Day 1
    Breithorn - Transfer by car to Cervinia. The climb is carried out in a day, departing from Cervinia by cable car you reach Plateau Rosà 3489 mt. Climbing on the crampons, you will skirt the summer ski slopes. We continue the walk on the glacier which does not present technical difficulties. Not too steep slopes lead to the summit in about 3 hours and 30 minutes. The descent takes place on the same ascent route
  • Day 2
    Gran Paradiso - From the Pont 1960 car park, mt. in Valsavarenche through pastures and woods in 2:30 - 3:00 hours you reach the Vittorio Emanuele refuge 2584 mt. Dinner and overnight at the refuge.
  • Day 3
    Gran Paradiso - Wake up at 3:30 am, breakfast and departure at 4:15 am. For about an hour you walk on paths that are not well marked and stony ground, after a moraine part, you reach the glacier, which does not present particular difficulties. The duration of the ascent is about 4/6 hours. The return usually takes place on the same route or towards the Chabod refuge by descending the Lavenciau glacier. On average it takes 2/3 hours for the descent.
  • Day 4
    Rest day available.
  • Day 5
    Mont Blanc - Transfer to Chamonix, ascent by cable car to Aiguille du Midì 3842 mt. Put on the crampons, in a roped party you go down the ridge and in just 25 minutes you will reach the Cosmiques refuge 3613 m. Dinner and overnight at the refuge.
  • Day 6
    Mont Blanc - 1:15 am wake up and breakfast. At around 02:00 departure in the night for the climb. After 2 hours of walking you reach the shoulder of M. Blanc du Tacul, descend for 50 meters in altitude to col du Maudit. Another 2 hours and you reach the shoulder of Mont Maudit. Finally, after having crossed the Brenva pass with a total of 6 hours, you will reach the summit. The descent usually takes place on the same itinerary with a time of about 3 - 4 hours. Alternatively, there are different ways of returning depending on the conditions of the mountain.

  • Period from June to September
  • 01:15 am wake up and breakfast. At around 02:00 departure in the night for the climb. After 2 hours of walking you reach the shoulder of Monte Blanc du Tacul, descend for 50 meters in altitude to Col du Maudit. Another 2 hours and you reach the shoulder of Mont Maudit. Finally, after having crossed the Brenva pass with a total of 6 hours, you will reach the summit. The descent usually takes place on the same itinerary (3-4 hours). Alternatively, there are different ways of returning depending on the conditions of the mountain.
  • Total height difference uphill + 1430 mt.
  • Period from June to September
